The Rochester Academy of Medicine is a community-based, collaborative organization comprised of inter-professional and inter-generational healthcare experts seeking to advance learning, encourage service, and initiate collaboration in the Rochester community. Our goal is to lead in fostering solutions that bring better health to our communities. We are located at 1441 East Avenue in the historic Lyon Home.
In joining the Academy you will belong to an organization that has provided support and recognition for healthcare and community professionals for over 120 years in Rochester. You will be part of a long and remarkable tradition. In the Academy’s beautiful rooms you have a place to participate in programs in many ways -- as a colleague, a collaborator, a researcher, a scholar, a volunteer, a teacher, a mentor. It will become your professional home.
Membership Levels
Lyon Society
- Named after Edmund & Caroline Lyon and their three daughters – Elzabeth, Caroline & Linda
- One-time fee for life

Rogers Society
- Named after Dr. Lemuel A. Rogers Jr. Dr. Rogers received his medical degree in 1963 from Howard University Medical School. One of the first African American doctors in Rochester, NY to build and own a medical building and joint practice
- Initial fee with ability to add additional funds to reach the next Society Level

1441 Society
- Opportunity to become a lifetime member for both healthcare providers and community members

Young Professional, Retired Professional, Friend of the Academy
- This level of membership is open to Healthcare Professionals that have graduated within the past 3 years or for Retired Professionals or Friends of the Academy (members of the community interested in supporting healthcare education and the historic Lyon family home)

Student
- This level of membership is available to all students at no cost
- Subscription period: 1 year
